In the Karlštejn Zoo in the immediate vicinity of the Romantic Hotel Mlýn you can see a number of exotic animals, one-humped and bactrian camels, bison, llamas, zebras, French donkeys, Shetland horses. The dominant features of the Zoo are the noble white lion Leon and a pair of  white tigers. In addition you will see other felines such as the  cougar, spotted leopard, monkeys, owls, goats, donkeys, sheep. You and your children can see the animals in the immediate vicinity and feed some.

There is a children's corner with an inflatable castle, a bouncing mattress and a train. 

In the summer season you can relax in the relaxation zone of the park with access to the river Berounka. More information

Beroun is located on the borders of the Bohemian Karst and Křivoklátsko. It was probably founded in the Middle Ages, and till today you can see the winding streets in the historic center. Every year, the square hosts the popular Pottery Markets, which continue the long-standing tradition of pottery production. The city is also known for its bear enclosure, where the bears from Czech children TV series Vojta, Kuba and Matěj found a home. In Beroun, you can visit the Museum of Bohemian Karst, the Museum of Beroun Ceramics or perhaps the water park.

Quarries America is the name for a system of pit limestone quarries, which are connected by underground galleries. The most famous are Velká and Malá America about 4 km from Karlstejn. The windows of the galleries offer a unique view of the quarries themselves.

Guided tour of the underground galleries of these quarries is possible to book on weekends.

The picturesque village of Tetín lies above the Berounka river in the Bohemian Karst. It is a famous place in Czech history, Princess Ludmila, grandmother of St. Wenceslas, lived here. Because of her, Tetín became a place of pilgrimage and today the village has three churches. And right under the church of St. John of Nepomuk iconic viewpoint on the Berounka river opens up. The Tetín Museum presents local history, nature and celebrities.

The history of limestone mining and transportation in the Bohemian Karst is brought to life by the open-air museum of the Solvay Quarries. There you can see  a rich collection of equipment and a narrow-gauge railway. You can take the train ride, visit the exhibition or go into the adit with a guide.

The research station of the Karlštejn winery has a long tradition in the production of quality wines, which win awards in wine competitions. It continues the tradition of Karlštejn viticulture dating back to 1348, when Beneš Krabice of Weitmile first mentions Karl's intention to establish vineyards on the slopes below the future castle. Tour of wine cellars, including tasting and refreshments possible on the basis of a preliminary order.
