NÁMĚSTI MÍRU CHRISTMAS MARKETS
When: 20th of November 2019 – 24th of December 2019
Location: Náměsti Míru, Vinohrady
Opening hours: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
A large and popular market among locals, the Náměsti Míru, or the Peace Square markets are set in front of the impressive Gothic Church of St. Ludmila, in Vinohrady, a neighborhood bright and alive full of great architecture work and restaurants.
The market is the first one to be open and there you will find everything you will need to have a traditional Czech Christmas, calendars, Advent wreaths, candles and candle holders. There is also a large tree and events for the whole family.
Where to stay?
Vinohrady is only about a 10-minute walk from the National Museum and the Wenceslas Square, so the hotel Elysee is your best pick. However, the cosmopolitan Žižkov suburb is also nearby, and there you will find our cozy and comfortable hotel Carlton and the large and convenient hotel Ariston. They are all great options with good transport links to anywhere in town.
NÁMĚSTÍ REPUBLIKY CHRISTMAS MARKET
When: 30th of November 2019 – 29th of December 2019
Location: Republic Square, in front of Shopping Centre Palladium.
Opening hours: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm
Another popular market for locals and well-known for having the best food stands, this market is not as busy, not as large and prices of goods are much cheaper. Here you will find the traditional Czech Christmas decorations for sale and the handy shopping centre Palladium right next to it for your shopping.
This market is also near the Municipal house and Powder Tower, a great piece of Prague’s architecture and the portal where many kings crossed during the coronation.
Where to stay?
The Republic Square is near the Wenceslas Square, only a 5-minute walk. Therefore, hotel Elysee will be just perfect to visit this market too. Another option is hotel Belvedere, a 20-minute scenic walk through the famous Letna Park will give you breathtaking views of Prague.
JIŘIHO Z PODĚBRAD MARKETS
When: 1st of December 2019 - 23rd of December 2019
Location: Jiřiho z Poděbrad, Žižkov, Prague 3
Opening hours: 10:00 - 22:00
This is an interesting market and surely worth a visit. It’s a bit far from the centre, visited most by locals and expats that live in Prague. The market is set next to the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord, or simply, Plečnik. The popularity of this market is due to the conventional farmer’s markets that take place in this square every week from Wednesday to Saturday selling fresh produce, local food and some live music on Saturdays.
The infamous Prague TV Tower, the tallest building in Prague with its baby statues climbing upwards is just metres from here and you can go all the way to the top where there is a restaurant and offers extensive views of Prague.

As we previously mentioned, Žižkov host to of our hotels, the larger and cosmopolitan Ariston & Ariston Patio and the cosy and romantic hotel Carlton. Both great options to reach Jiriho on foot.
CHRISTMAS MARKETS AT ANDĚL
When: 30th of November 2019 - 23rd of December 2019
Location: Farmers' Market at Anděl, Nádražní, Anděl - pěší zóna, Prague 5 - Smíchov
Opening hours: 10:00 - 19:00
Another favorite among locals, the Anděl Christmas markets is located right in front of the Shopping Mall Nový Smíchov and brings all the Czech favorite gift and decoration sets.
